Monday, December 21st we had science day at Jefferson Elementary. A whole day full of science experiments! Our students learned about bubbles, rockets, space, how to make ice cream, space mud, and reindeer food. Ask your students about their day. I am sure they will have plenty of stories to share. One of the favorite things from science day was being put into a bubble. I sent home pictures of each child inside a bubble. If you would like an additional copy printed or emailed to you I would be happy to do that. Have a great holiday break and I will see everyone back in January!
First semester is almost over! I can't believe how fast this year is going. I have been having a wonderful time getting to know the students and helping them be successful in reading, writing and math. We have come along ways academically in three months! This class has been working hard learning the letter sounds, sounding out words, and reading short stories to name a few. Please continue to work with your child over Christmas break on writing numbers 1-20, sounding out words, and writing words. The extra practice at home is very beneficial to them.
11/30/15 is the day book orders are due for the month of November. Remember, books would be great christmas and stocking gifts.
MONDAY 11/23/15 is the day fundraiser can be picked up at Jefferson Elementary. From 2:30-5:30PM the gym will be open for you to pick up the pizza/pies/rolls that you sold. Way to go selling a lot! Emmett & Melody were the top sellers from Mrs. Jochum's kindergarten class. They got to go have a bounce house party in the gym.
10/20/15 Kindergarten students took their district writing assessment today! We wrote about our favorite activity to do outside. Mrs. Jochum loves to see the growth in the students writing from now until May!
